Each learner has his own
strengths and weaknesses. Understanding these will help teachers to accelerate
learning.
Learning styles are
classified into seven, four and some three depending on founders and theories.
Here, the four learning
style is considered.
Auditory learners
Auditory or verbal learners
learn through hearing and speaking. Listening to a teacher really works for
them and they can stay attentive for a long time. However, they easily become
distracted by any sound or noise.
As depending on listening,
only having diagrams or drawing is not enough for them. They need verbal
instructions.
Here are some characteristics
distinguish them from others:
- They love music and songs.
- They are good at storytelling.
- They have a natural gut in understanding someone by his voice, pitches or intonations.
- They are good at oral exams.
- They are good at clarifying points or ideas.
- They are good at remembering names.
- When they try to memorize, they tend to say it out loud.
- They choose group discussions and debates.
- They remember jokes.
- When boring, they hum and sing.
- They can remember what is just said.
- They are easily distracted by any sound or noise.
